ansible.builtin.include_tasks – Dynamically include a task list

Note

This module is part of ansible-base and included in all Ansible installations. In most cases, you can use the short module name include_tasks even without specifying the collections: keyword. Despite that, we recommend you use the FQCN for easy linking to the module documentation and to avoid conflicting with other collections that may have the same module name.

Synopsis

• Includes a file with a list of tasks to be executed in the current playbook.

Parameters

Parameter	Choices/Defaults	Comments
apply string added in 2.7 of ansible.builtin		Accepts a hash of task keywords (e.g. tags, become) that will be applied to the tasks within the include.
file string added in 2.7 of ansible.builtin		The name of the imported file is specified directly without any other option. Unlike ansible.builtin.import_tasks, most keywords, including loop, with_items, and conditionals, apply to this statement. The do until loop is not supported on ansible.builtin.include_tasks.
free-form string		Supplying a file name via free-form - include_tasks: file.yml of a file to be included is the equivalent of specifying an argument of file.

• This is a core feature of the Ansible, rather than a module, and cannot be overridden like a module.
