15.4 The Maintainer’s View
For the maintainer, the general procedure differs from the C language case:
- If only a single programming language is used, the
XGETTEXT_OPTIONS
variable inpo/Makevars
(see po/Makevars) should be adjusted to match thexgettext
options for that particular programming language. If the package uses more than one programming language withgettext
support, it becomes necessary to change the POT file construction rule inpo/Makefile.in.in
. It is recommended to make onexgettext
invocation per programming language, each with the options appropriate for that language, and to combine the resulting files usingmsgcat
.
